Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
For Facial Rejuvenation, Hair Restoration, and Female Sexual Health

We offer Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy in our Bloomfield, CT practice for facial rejuvenation, natural hair restoration, and to improve female sexual health. Plasma is the liquid portion of whole blood and is the medium in which blood cells to circulate throughout the body. Plasma contains platelets (also known as thrombocytes). Platelets are blood cells that cause cell growth and healing functions. We produce Platelet Rich Plasma in our practice by drawing a patient’s blood, isolating the platelet rich plasma cells and concentrating it. The PRP is then injected into the area(s) requiring treatment.
Before and After
Individual results may vary
PRP Injections and Micro-Needling (for facial rejuvenation)
Platelet Rich Plasma injections stimulate the collagen in the face to grow, resulting in healthier and more youthful skin. We also use micro-needling combined with PRP to address concerns including: fine lines and wrinkles, laxity, dark circles, acne scars and poor complexion. Multiple micro-punctures are created on the face which in and of itself stimulates growth factors to tighten skin and rejuvenate collagen. PRP is then “painted” onto the micro-punctures so they can soak into the tissue in order to further stimulate and enhance rejuvenation. For optimal results, 3 to 5 treatments spaced four to six weeks apart are recommended.
Hair Restoration
PRP therapy for hair restoration stimulates dormant follicles to grow new hair while strengthening and thickening existing hair. PRP is injected into the areas of the scalp to reach the bottom of the follicles where hair has been lost or is thinning. These injections stimulate a specialized population of cells called dermal papilla which play a critical role in hair growth. 3 to 4 treatments spaced one month apart followed by maintenance treatments every six to twelve months are required to achieve and maintain optimal results.
Female Sexual Health
The PRP treatment for female sexual health repairs and regenerates tissues, and can address issues such as: sexual arousal disorder, low sex drive, difficulty reaching orgasm, pain during sex and urinary incontinence. An ultra-thin needle is used to inject PRP into the clitoris and the area between the urethra and vaginal wall. The growth factors from the PRP rejuvenate the tissues in the treatment area. Results have included vaginal tightening, heightened sensitivity, improvement in the look and feel of the tissues and bladder control.
